Trio in E-flat for Oboe, Bassoon and French Horn, by Franz Joseph Haydn

Originally written for violin, violincello and French Horn in E-flat. The horn part remains as originally written. In this arrangement the violin part is transcribed for the oboe and the cello part given to the bassoon. The Trio now becomes a more coherent sounding chamber music work.

An ideal album covering the finest brass writing from the 17th Century to the present day. Scored for 2 trumpets, French horn, trombone, baritone, and tuba, the compositions are not too difficult for good high school players, but nevertheless are sufficiently challenging to be of keen interest to player and audience alike. Composers represented include Purcell, Moussorgsky, Kabalevsky, Bartok, among others.
